+ What are our relationships?

mass-mutualWe are a MassMutual brokerage director organization, meaning we have a contract with MassMutual that allows us to market MassMutual insurance products, life insurance, life insurance with long term care, disability insurance, long term care insurance and fixed annuities. We are proud of that relationship and it allows us to deliver very high end products in those markets to our clients.

Sometimes MassMutual isn’t the right fit, so we have relationships with other insurance companies throughout the marketplace in the long term care, life insurance, and disability insurance worlds. We act as the intermediaries to a brokerage or general agency so that our clients have access to all the various companies for their clients’ needs:

  • Brokers
  • Insurance agents
  • Financial advisors

+ What services do we provide?

The most important service we provide is training for our advisors. I’m a licensed New York State Continuing Education (CE) and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) instructor. I help train brokers on products, ideas, retirement planning, long term care, life insurance, disability insurance, estate planning, retirement planning, etc. We can provide you and your team continuing education training geared to whatever subject matter is important to you and your business.

+ What value proposition or what other things do we do to help brokers?

Michael and John Gassman talkingOne of the things that I have been doing over the last 30 years is helping advisors overcome what we call their “sales call reluctance.” Through an relationship we have with Bill Grimes and Associates, we offer and administer a test called “SPQ Gold.” SPQ Gold helps people in sales, financial advisors, CPA firms, or insurance agents test themselves to determine what holds them back in promoting their business. This program enables us to really support and coach our brokers in ways to improve their business and practice.

+ What makes us different?

I think what makes us different is the experience that we bring to the table. I have been in the financial service business since 1984. Through my experience, I think I understand what is necessary to be responsive, deliver quality service, and be worthy of your business. My role has been mostly in management and development, support, and training of financial advisors, insurance agents, CPAs, etc.

Fliegelman Group Photo No GlareAlong with myself, our team is comprised of Deborah Marcovecchio and Donna Portnoy. Deborah has been with me for about 10 years. Her experience is tremendously valuable and she does an outstanding job in coordinating and supporting the needs of our brokers. She helps them with proposals and information which helps them get their business done.

Donna Portnoy is very detail oriented, and does what we call “backstage work” for our company. Our backstage work has to do with tracking business, ordering medicals, paying attention to details, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Donna does a great job in that area.

We are also involved with the Strategic Coach program. We are always looking to grow and with our relationship with Strategic Coach, we are finding ways to deliver even better service. Any ideas that we get from Strategic Coach, we share as “best practice” with our brokers. This is a very fertile environment for learning and growing and we take a lot of pride in sharing ideas and concepts that can add value to our broker clients.
