Disability Insurance Series – Part 4

High Limits Disability for Athletes, Entertainers and High Earners

Today I want to introduce to you a type of disability insurance for big earners, people that make in excess of $800,000 or $1 million a year. This would include high net worth people such as athletes and entertainers.

Recently, Green Bay Packer Jermichael Finley was seriously injured in a game and ended up having spinal fusion surgery. He had a disability insurance policy that would pay him a $10 million lump sum benefit, which he equates to a $16 or $20 million taxable amount of money, because the $10 million is tax free.

These types of programs are available through some of the carriers we represent to protect people who, if they are unable to work, risk losing a tremendous amount of income. These types of programs are specialty policies that we work with for our high net worth clients who want to protect their most valuable asset – their income.

Here is a link to Jermichael Finley’s article. I think you will enjoy reading his story and understanding how you, too, can protect your most valuable asset.
